APPRENTICE CONDUCTOR PROGRAM

The Oratorio Society of Queens is proud to be expanding its Student Choral Program to
include training for aspiring choral conductors in musical skills, leadership, and pedagogy
through mentorship and practical experience.

Meet OSQ’s first Apprentice Conductor, Kate Byrnes.

Tolentine Catholic Academy here in Queens. She is currently earning her Graduate Degree
in Music Education at the Aaron Copland School of Music. She has been a member of the
Soprano 1 section of The Oratorio Society of Queens since 2021 and was recently made the
Alternate Section Leader.

Kate received her Undergraduate Degree in Choral Education from Rowan University. In
